Women’s Heart HealthMore women than men die of heart disease; women are one-and-a-half times as likely as men to die within a year of a heart attack, and symptoms of a heart attack in women may be as mild as nausea, fatigue and jaw pain. A Board Certified cardiologist will discuss screening to identify cardiovascular risk factors; steps women can take to reduce their risk of heart attack, and the importance of nutritional counseling and stress management in treatment and prevention.
Men’s Heart Health
Family history, abdominal obesity, abnormal cholesterol numbers, high blood sugar and high blood pressure are common cardiovascular risk factors for both men and women. A Board Certified cardiologist will review risk factors, describe symptoms of heart attack for men, and discuss current treatment options. The importance of lifestyle interventions for reducing risk and slowing the progression of heart disease will be presented.
