Caring for the Elderly
When the responsibility of caring for an older adult spills over into the work place, employee productivity and health suffers. Whether employees are providing help for an older adult now or planning for future situations, this seminar provides valuable information and resources.

A representative from the Rush Older Adults Program will present strategies for keeping the elderly person healthy, including: age appropriate health screenings; ways to prevent falls and reduce the risk of stroke; the importance of a geriatric assessment; how to choose health care arrangements, and how to set up advanced directives for people with disease or diminishing abilities.

Seminar participants receive information about the Waud Center, a patient and family resource center which offers information free of charge on a wide range of topics related to healthy aging and caregiving.
