HEALTH LITERACY: Turning Health Knowledge into Wealth

Good Health means wealth: more personal wealth for employees who stay well and use their health benefits wisely, and improved financial performance for companies with a healthy workforce. Wellness and health consumerism are built upon a foundation of health literacy. Knowing and understanding basic health information is key for employees to make good health decisions.

• What basic health literacy skills do all employees need?
• What are employers doing to promote health literacy?
• What are the trusted sources for health information?
• What free or low cost resources are available for employers
   to promote health literacy?

Employer representatives are invited to learn more at RHA's Fifth Annual Employer Symposium, July 17, 2008, 8:30 a.m. - noon at Rush University Medical Center.
